About Us
HOW I STARTED
A personal journey of faith, craft, and devotion—rooted in tradition and refined over time
It began quietly at home, guided by love for faith and a desire to give form to remembrance through art.
About the Artist
My name is Amjad Malik, and my journey with Islamic art began more than 25 years ago as a personal passion. What started as a hobby gradually became a lifelong devotion to creating artwork that reflects faith, beauty, and spiritual presence.
I studied Arabic calligraphy through online courses with Omar Uddin (Canada) and began my artistic practice using stained glass, etching, and glass blowing, allowing light and texture to become part of the spiritual expression. As my work evolved, I expanded my techniques through training at Rainbow Glass Works in Sacramento.
Some of my early stained glass pieces were exhibited at the San Francisco Public Library and later at the Oakland Public Library. I have also had the honor of creating custom Islamic artwork for SALAM Center in Sacramento, contributing to sacred and community spaces.
Today, through Furqan Art, I continue to create Islamic artwork using a range of materials and techniques, guided by the intention to inspire reflection, reverence, and spiritual calm in homes, prayer spaces, and community environments.
Islamic Art started as a hobby for me but really has become a way I can enhance and beautify my own spirituality, and my hope is it can do the same for the viewer as well.
Thanks for looking.
Sincerely,
Amjad Malik
